ALCS - Game 3

The series has now shifted to Detroit where games 3, 4 and 5 (if necessary) will be played.  The weather will definitely be different than in Oakland because the temperature has dropped to the 40s and there is a chance for snow.  Because of the changing weather, the game will be played at 4:30 instead of 8:00.

The pitching match-up for this afternoon's game will feature Kenny Rogers of the Tigers and Rich Harden of the A's.  It will be interesting to see how the teams fair in the cooler fall air in Detroit.

Tigers Notes:  The Tigers will be without the services of relief pitcher Joel Zumaya for at least today's game with tightness in his right forearm.  Team officials say that it is similar to what Zumaya had in early September.  Hopefully with treatment, Zumaya will be able to comeback and pitch but if he can't, the rest of the Tigers bullpen will have to step in and pick up the slack.  With the Tigers' bullpen depth, it shouldn't be a problem.

Over in the National League, the New York Mets took game 1 of the best-of-seven series with a 2-0 victory over the visiting St. Louis Cardinals.  Game 2 of the NLCS will take place tonight at 8:00 at Shea Stadium.  Pitching for the Mets is John Maine and he will be opposed by the Cardinals' Chris Carpenter.  The Cardinals need to win this game tonight in order to avoid falling into an 0-2 before heading to St. Louis for games 3, 4, and 5 (if necessary).

Writing Update

I had a good day yesterday writing Spider-Man's Wonderful Life.  I just about have the first chapter completed and then I send it over to my wonderful writing partner to add her 'words of wisdom' to the piece.  I'm feeling pretty good about my progress on it and I hope to get to work on chapter 2 soon.

Today I'm trying to work on my Smallville fic, Five Card Stud.  Over the last little while, it's been slowly coming back together for me.  I believe that I'm about halfway through this last chapter that I'm working on and I hope to have it done before the end of the month.  Watching Smallville will give me the inspiration that I need to work on it.

But I fear that I may be slowed downed a bit by a cold that I'm currently suffering from.  So, I hope everyone has patience for me to get these two projects progressing.
