Tied at 3-3 in the bottom of the ninth, the Tigers' Magglio Ordonez hit a two-out 3-run home run that propelled the Detroit Tigers to a 6-3 come from behind win in Game 4 of the ALCS.  With the win, the Tigers go to the World Series for the first time since 1984.  Ending the series yesterday gives the Tigers time to rest and heal from nagging injuries.

Game 4 Summary:  Tigers 6, A' 3

Over in the the National League, with a spectacular pitching performance from Jeff Suppan, the St. Louis Cardinals blanked the visiting New York Mets 5-0 in game 3 of the NLCS.  The gives the Cardinals a 2-1 series lead.  Game 4 is scheduled for 8:00 with Anthony Reyes pitching for the Cards while the Mets send Oliver Perez to the mound.

The winner of the NLCS will face the Detroit Tigers in the World series.  Games 1 and 2 of the Fall Classic will be held at Detroit's Comerica Park.
