In Wizard #183, I have learned some somber news.  JMS, or J. Michael Straczynski as he is commonly known as, will end his run of writing Amazing Spider-Man some time in 2007.  But, he'll be going out with a bang because his final story arc will crossover with the other 2 monthly Spider-Man titles.  It gets even better because the illustrator for the arc will be none other than Marvel Editor-In-Chief Joe Quesada.

I will miss JMS on Amazing but he did have a fantastic run.  He was on the title for 6 years, which is amazing, pun intended.  You don't see a lot of writers last that long on a particular title anymore because you see a creative team (writer/artist) last anywhere between 12 and 24 issues.  I do hope this won't be the last time we see him write Spider-Man, a cool one shot or limited series would be nice.

With JMS leaving, I do wonder if Jeph Loeb will take over writing duties for Amazing.  He's suppose to write a Spider-Man monthly title with J. Scott Campbell handling the art duties, so this could be Jeph's new assignment at the House of Ideas.  Well, it wouldn't be the first time Mr. Loeb has written Spider-Man.  He was the writer of the limited series, Spider-Man Blue, which was very good in my humble opinion.  If Mr. Loeb does take over the writing chores on Amazing, we fans will be getting an excellent replacement for JMS.

It's sad to see JMS go but replacing him with someone just as good should not hurt the title.  Hopefully the new author will continue make Amazing Spider-Man one of the best titles that Marvel puts out.

Once again I have done the unthinkable, that is complete a chapter in a day.  That marks two in a row.  Who would have thought that.  I won't take all of the credit for that because by wonderful co-author deserves some of it.  Her outlines for each chapter have been wonderful and I have been able to follow them with ease.

This gives me chapter 8 to tackle but I don't think I'll touch that until next week.  I would like to try and start my Smallville Christmas fic over the weekend, which I am still waiting for the specs for.  Today I'm suppose to get everything I need to start that story but I've received no word yet.  Hopefully I'll get it very soon.

Now, back to SWL, my co-author and I have 5 chapters in the can.  That means that posting shall begin shortly and don't be surprised to see something next week.
